Committees

The Municipality of Amherstburg currently has 9 Committees of Council.  These committees are comprised of volunteers, who provide advice to Council on specifically mandated areas of interest.  These committees contribute to the development of policies, programs and initiatives that enhance quality throughout Amherstburg.  These committees do however meet certain criteria.  A Committee of Council is defined by the following criteria:

  • Council passed a resolution stating that a group of individuals will be acting as a Committee of Council
  • The committee is accountable to Council for all of its actions and activities
  • The finances are directed and approved by Council
  • One or more Council members are appointed to sit on the committee

To serve on a committee an individual must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the Municipality of Amherstburg.
 

Amherstburg Accessibility Advisory Committee

Responsible for promoting accessibility for persons with disabilities.
