Charles Dickens Village Tour & Dinner
Saturday, November 19, 2011

• Enjoy a quaint evening at one of Amherstburg’s finest Bed and Breakfasts. Get a good night’s sleep as the next day is filled with holiday adventure.
• Enjoy a leisurely morning and be picked up at your Bed and Breakfast in the afternoon by a historic Trolley for a tour of Amherstburg’s Heritage District.
• A costumed interpreter will be your Tour Guide and will share stories of the:
          North American Black Historic Museum
          Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada
          The Park House Museum
          The Gordon House
          The Bellevue House and
          The Town’s Architectural highlights

 
• The tour includes a stop at the Commissariat, where period costumed attendants will greet you and invite you to share the Wassail Bowl (a historic holiday punch – warm, fragrant, spicy, apple and clove-like)
• The trolley will then tour you to your dinning destination. Enjoy a fireside dinner at Ducks on the Roof. This heart warming meal includes: Cream of Potato and Leek soup in a Bread Bowl, Roasted Chicken, Potatoes, Roasted Sweet Carrots, Bread Pudding, coffee/tea. (Guests are responsible for their alcohol purchases).
• To end the evening on a holiday note the Trolley will drive to Toddy Jones Park and Town square in Amherstburg to view the spectacular River Lights illuminated displays.
• The trolley will return you to your vehicle or accommodation.

Holiday High Tea & Concert
Sunday, November 20, 2011

• This highly anticipated event is being held at Wesley United Church in Amherstburg (365 Sandwich Street South).
• Tea and traditional fare will be served at 4:00, you may choose to bring your own tea cup to make the experience personal and special!
• The candle-lit concert begins at 5:00
• You will enjoy the sounds of Windsor Junior Symphony, Christ Church Bell Ringers and soloist Lisa Deneau.
• Once the concert has concluded, we would like to encourage you to visit over 100 illuminated light displays and let the season lift your spirits!

Price: $15 per person/ $12 seniors (55 and better)/ $10 – 16 and under

 

“An Old Towne Holiday Revue” Dinner & Show
Saturday, December 10, 2011


• The Trolley will stop at your Bed and Breakfast and pick you up early evening for your dinning destination. At Duck on the Roof you will enjoy a fireside meal, which will include: Cream of Potato Leek Soup in a Bread Bowl, Roasted Chicken, Potatoes, Roasted Sweet Carrots, Bread Pudding, Coffee/Tea. (Purchase of alcoholic beverages is not included)
• Following dinner, you will taken to Villanova Festival Theatre for a live holiday performance.
• Entertainment will be provided by: The Catz Meow Dance Center and Lakeshore Academy of Fine Arts performing “The Nutcracker Prince”, and grand concert by Music Express
• Once the performance has concluded, the Trolley will return you to your pick up location.

Afternoon Heritage Trolley Tour & Wine Tasting

• Enjoy a visit to the historic Gordon House where the halls are decked! (268 Dalhousie Street South) Indulge in tastings of local wines paired with cheeses and desserts.
• After your heart has been warmed by the Gordon House’s historic charm, take a short stroll down the street. You will hop on a historic Trolley at Town Square and where you will be greeted by a Tour Guide. The trolley will tour you through Amherstburg’s Heritage District and includes stories on the:
          North American Black Historic Museum
          Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada
          The Park House Museum
          The Gordon House
          The Bellevue House
          Town’s Architectural highlights and information will be pointed out

At the end of your tour you will receive a River Lights Holiday gift.

Price: $13 per person/$24 per couple

Upon reservation you will be asked to choose from 3 tour times: 1:20pm, 2:20pm or 3:20pm.
