Day Camps

The Town of Amherstburg offers events and activities for your children during their Summer and March break. Our camps offer a full days' worth of activities for your children.

Summer Day Camp

Each week, our Summer Day Camp program offers an exciting new theme for children and youth to learn, stay active, and grow. Campers will have a chance to attend weekly field trips to the Lions Pool as well as a different Field Trip each Wednesday. We are proud to provide campers with a safe and happy atmosphere that encourages them to be themselves, make new friends, and have lots of fun!

Ages: 4-13

Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm

Early drop off: 7:30am - 9:00am

Late pick up: 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Cost: $25 per day or $125 for full week (full week includes Field Trip fee)

Optional Hot Lunch - $5/day Tuesday and Friday only

Weekly Themes

July 3 - July 7:  Canada 150 Celebration

Welcome campers to the first week of summer vacation and summer day camp.

In honour of Canada's 150th Birthday we will make an attempt at completing 150 activities from our Canada 150 Play List and finish the week off with a Birthday Bash!

 July 10 - 14:  Sports Camp

Campers will play all their favourite sports all in one week: Baseball, Football, Soccer, Swimming and Field Hockey! What an active week! Campers will get a chance to work together to invent new sports.

 July 17 - July 21:  Science Camp

Campers will take part in learning, creating and experimenting! We have crafts, activities and experiments for curious young minds. Prepare to get messy!

 July 24 - July 28: Animal Invasion

Let's take a walk on the wild side and learn all we can about all of our favourite animals. From the ocean to the desert to maybe even your cat or dog! We'll explore them all with crafts, activities, games and so much more!

 July 31 - August 4: Hawaiian Hullabaloo

Aloha, campers! Grass skirts, leis and a luau are just some of the activities planned this week. Can you guess what will the Hawaiian word-of-the-day of be?

 August 7 - August 11: Greek Greatness

Calling all gods and goddesses! This week we will be playing Olympic sports, making Grecian food favourites, joining an architecture challenge and lots more fun activities.

 August 14 - August 18: Amherstburg GO!

We will be visiting various sites within Amherstburg to learn about the history and culture that has shaped our town. At each site, campers will search for an object called a geocache container.  Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.

August 21 - August 25: Eco Camp

Start your camper's relationship with food, nature and gardening off right! Organic gardening, games, crafts and bug hunts are just a few of the things your little sprout will do during a week of Eco Camp.

August 28 - Sept 1: So Long, Summer!

This week we will say our farewells to summer vacation. We will play all of our favourite camp games, create exciting crafts, and celebrate our last week of summer vacation!


 Specialty Camps

 July 24 - July 28: Youth Tennis Camp

Learn with Coach Nancy the mental, physical, and technical aspects of the game. Technical fundamentals and proper techniques are taught, along with drills, games, and match play. Tennis camp is a great chance to build lasting friendships and stay active this summer. Ages: 6 - 13 years. Must register for the full week.

 July 31 - August 4: Bike Camp

Bike camp teaches campers learn how to ride safely, fix their bikes, and travel to fun destinations throughout town; all with a smaller footprint and a healthy dose of exercise. Ages: 6 - 13 years. Must register for the full week.
