LIBRO CENTRE VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

The Ontario Government announced that as of Wednesday September 22nd, ALL visitors aged 12 years or older to indoor recreation facilities, such as the Libro Centre, will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter the building. FULL vaccination is achieved by receiving 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada with the last dose being administered at least 14 days prior to entering the facility.

The Province of Ontario released regulations and a guidance document with additional information with respect to being fully vaccinated to enter higher-risk indoor public spaces.  However, there are a few exemptions to this requirement, such as:

  • Patrons under the age of 12 years old.  Although proof of vaccination is not required, patrons under 12 years old may be required to provide proof of identification confirming age if Town employees are not able to determine age of the patron.
  • Patrons under the age of 18 years old who are entering the Libro Centre solely for the purpose of actively participating in organized sport.  Activities which this exemption applies to include leagues, organized pick-up sports, dance, martial arts and swimming classes.  This exemption does not apply to youth (12 - 17 years of age) who are spectators at sporting events.
  • Visitors who are coming to the Libro Centre for government business PLEASE REMEMBER ACCESS IS STILL BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
    • Building and Planning division (includes picking up building permits - Call 519.736.5408 to make an appointment
    • Community and Protective Services - Call 519.736.5712 to make an appointment
  • Patrons who provide a written document, completed and supplied by a physician or by a registered nurse stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the effective time period for the medical reason.
  • As per Provincial guidelines, volunteers, coaches and officials identified by their organizations who are actively participating (or performing their duties) do not require proof of vaccination.

NOTE:  Provincial and national sport governing bodies are permitted to add additional restrictions to their respective safety plans for their member associations and that will be relayed

PROOF OF VACCINATION AND PROOF OF IDENTITY

According to the Province of Ontario, all versions of the vaccine receipt are acceptable as proof of vaccination (ex. printed copy or emailed version). The receipt must show that patrons are fully vaccinated. Photocopies of proof of vaccination and Government issued ID will be accepted.

Proof of vaccination will be accepted if the person’s name and date of birth on their identification document matches the vaccination receipt with name and date of birth and if the person is fully vaccinated.

Identification documents can be one of the following (photo ID is not required): Birth Certificate, Citizenship Card, Driver’s Licence, Government (Ontario or other) issued identification card including health card, Indian Status Card /Indigenous Membership Card, Passport, and/or Permanent Resident Card.

In instances where the age of a youth is not immediately confirmed, identification may be requested to determine eligibility for exemption from vaccine requirements.

Both the vaccination certificate and proof of identity will need to be shown each time upon entering the building. The enhanced vaccine certificate will replace both of these documents when it is released by the province of Ontario (expected October 22, 2021).

Please note that the process of reviewing documents at the entrances may cause some wait time to get into the complex.

MASKS

Masks must be worn at all times when in the building and can only be removed when participating in a sport or fitness activity.
