Dates and times provided may change due to weather conditions and other factors affecting construction. Although this list is intended to be comprehensive, unavoidable emergency closures and minor closures are not listed.

Bridge Replacement over Long Marsh Drain - 2nd Concession North Closure – North Sideroad to Beneteau Drive

The 2nd Concession North will be closed to through traffic between North Sideroad and Beneteau Drive to facilitate bridge replacement. Local traffic will be maintained for residents that need access to their homes.

The Town reminds residents that during construction traffic disruptions may occur and some delays may be experienced. Please slow down and obey all traffic signage.

2021 Mill and Pave Program

Amherstburg Town Council recently awarded the contract for the 2021 Mill and Pave Program to Armstrong Paving. The 2021 Program involves the following roads;

- Pointe West Drive, Wyandotte Street (Notice of Construction)

- Ryan Street, David Crescent, Lamp Road (Notice of Construction)

 

Fryer Street Reconstruction - Simcoe Street to Alma Street                                                                                    Online Public Information Notice

The Town of Amherstburg, together with the Town’s Consultant, Dillon Consulting Limited, held an Online Public Centre (PIC) regarding the Fryer Street Reconstruction project on April 21, 2021.  The project involves the reconstruction of Fryer Street from Simcoe Street (County Road 18) to Alma Street and will generally include the following:

  • New asphalt pavement and curbing;
  • New storm and sanitary sewers along portions of the project;
  • New local watermain, fire hydrants and water services; and
  • New concrete sidewalk/pathway as needed on both sides of the road.

 The project will be completed in two (2) phases;

  • Phase 1 – Richmond Street to Alma Street in 2021
  • Phase 2 – Simcoe Street to Richmond Street in 2022 (pending Council approval)
