Parks and Facilities

Amherstburg has a variety of parks and facilities that provide a unique opportunity for community involvement. From gardens and parks that preserve Amherstburg's culture and heritage, to sports fields that provide ample opportunities for physical activity and fun, to pavilions and picnic areas, there is a special spot for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy the great outdoors in Amherstburg!  Visit the Parks, Gardens and Trails webpage for details on all of our parks.

The Town works closely with Essex Region Conservation Authority to ensure that our parks, gardens and trails manage the conservation, restoration and development of the natural resources.

 Libro Credit Union Centre
The Libro Credit Union Centre is the hub of recreation activity in Amherstburg. If you want to book a facility or register your child for a recreation program, contact the Libro Centre Guest Services Desk at 519-736-5712 or send an email to recreation@amherstburg.ca. You can also visit Libro Centre at 3295 Meloche Road and speak to our Guest Services staff that can assist you in whatever your recreation needs are.
 Parks, Gardens and Trails

Amherstburg has 18 parks, including King's Navy Yard Park, the crown jewel of the town's green space. In addition to the parks that our residents enjoy all year round, the Town has the award winning Signature Garden, Hosta Gardens and Rhododendron and Azalea Collection. The Downtown Core also boasts over 200 massive hanging baskets and over 100 floral planters.

Within several parks there are facilities that you can rent for weddings, family reunions, etc., contact Guest Services at 519-736-5712 for more information on rental opportunities.
 Splash Pad

 

The Town's Splash Pad at Toddy Jones Park is open daily from 8am-9pm until fall.  With weather permitting, the closing date may change.  

 
 Sports Facilities
In addition to the facilities at the Libro Centre, Amherstburg has 17 soccer fields and 6 baseball/softball diamonds that you can rent at the following facilities:

Anderdon Park

The park hosts a lit basketball court and two tennis/pickleball courts. 

Malden Centre Park

The Park has five ball diamonds, a pavilion and two tennis/pickleball courts (unlit). 

Wigle Park

The Park has a ball diamond and is adjacent to the Toddy Jones Accessible Playground and Splash Pad.

Larry Bauer Soccer Complex

The Complex, located on the site of the Libro Credit Union Centre, has 17 soccer pitches including three that are FIFA regulation size.
