Our Commitment

The Drinking Water Quality Management System Policy outlines our commitment:

  • To supply clean, safe drinking water
  • To maintain and improve the water distribution quality management system
  • To meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements, and customer needs

We have submitted our financial plan for the water distribution system to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to fulfill the additional requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act's municipal drinking water licensing program.

Annual Reports

Updated annual Water Treatment Plant reports are prepared by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). These reports summarize the Water Treatment Plant operations per the Ontario Drinking Water Systems Regulation O. Reg. 170/03.

Water and Sewer Rates

New water and sewer rates are approved by Town Council annually. The Town of Amherstburg reads the water meters and sends the information to Essex Powerlines Corporation to issue billings for water and sewer use.

For a complete list of fees and charges associated with water services, please refer to Schedule G of the 2019 User Fee By-law 2019-010.
