Town of Amherstburg is proudly conducting an election in 2022 for the following offices: 

Municipal

  • Mayor, to be elected at large
  • Deputy Mayor, to be elected at large
  • 5 Councillors, to be elected at large

School Board Trustees (1 each)

  • Greater Essex County District School Board
  • Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board
  • Conseil Scolaire Viamond Geographic Area # 10
  • Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence Secteur Geographic # 6
 VOTING METHOD
For the 2022 Municipal Election, the Town of Amherstburg will utilize the traditional method of voting whereby electors will attend a prescribed polling location (to be announced at a later date) to cast their ballot. Electronic tabulators will be utilized to assist in the counting of the ballots. This is the same method that was used in the 2018 election.
ACCEPTABLE VOTER IDENTIFICATION

When attending the polls to vote, you must bring with you your Voter Notification Card (mailed to your address) and a form of acceptable identification.

To confirm your information is accurately recorded for the upcoming elections, log on to voterlookup.ca using your property address or assessment roll number and your full name and date of birth. Updating this information will help to ensure that municipal Voters’ Lists are accurate and up-to-date in preparation for municipal and school board elections occurring this October.

The Town of Amherstburg in conjunction with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) attempts to keep the voters list current. In an effort to ensure you are on the voters list, we would ask that you contact the municipal offices at 519-736-0012, if you have:

  • Recently moved into the municipality;
  • have attained the age of 18;
  • have changed your address within the Town of Amherstburg;
  • have changed your school support.
