Yes! You can still apply direct via email to building@amherstburg.ca or drop off "in person" to our office at 3295 Meloche Road (Libro Arena) . When you arrange to meet with us to apply, we will review and discuss your project and confirm that it meets our Zoning By-law, Building Code and application requirements. If you have applied already you may call our office to confirm application status at 519-736-5408 (Please note we have many applications in for review, your patience is appreciated) If using our Amherstburg Portal to apply for a building permit, please ensure you upload the application for permit and other appropriate forms, 2 sets of drawings and a site plan.
Please note that most permits are subject to applicable fees and deposits. Your permit application must accompany 2 sets of structural drawings, including a site plan and any other applicable forms/approvals as well as the deposit. We regret that we cannot review incomplete applications.

SB 12 New Update December 2016: All residential building permit applications submitted after December 31, 2016 need to follow the new energy guidelines identified in Chapter 3 of Supplementary Standard SB-12 "Energey Efficiency for Housing" as amended on July 7, 2016.
All new homes are subject to right of way permits for the curb cut and / or finishing of the driveway approach. For existing homes in cases of adding, widening or finishing existing driveways, please call 519-736-3664, or visit the Public Works Department at 512 Sandwich Street S. You can also download the application from our website at Engineering and Public Works.
