Community Grants

The Corporation of the Town of Amherstburg is committed to the growth of the community and the development of a robust, culturally-vibrant and self-sufficient non-profit sector through the provision of community-based grants. The grant provides a mechanism to build and advance the self-sustainability and effectiveness of community organizations in their ability to deliver programs and services.

Grants may be given as general community donations or for minor and major projects. Each application is evaluated in an equitable manner.

Applicants awarded a grant will be held accountable for the expenditure of the funds in accordance with the stated objectives/plans. In the event that the project does not go forward, the grant recipient will be required to return those funds granted. Grants in future years will be reviewed based on past demonstrated fiscal responsibility of the applicants.

Funds granted are not transferable between projects or groups without prior approval and must be used for the specific purposes outlined in the application. Grants will not be awarded to profit oriented programs, programs with a political mandate or special interest groups.

For more information, please read the Grants to Community Groups and Organizations Policy.

Any organization who wishes to apply, must complete the grant request form and return the form to:
