Amherstburg Fire Department receives grant from Enbridge Gas

The Amherstburg Fire Department has received a $5,000 grant from Enbridge Gas through the Safe Community Project Assist program to help purchase updated training books and manuals for both new recruits and veteran firefighters.
The funding, which is part of a $125,000 provincewide investment, supports smaller departments in staying current with evolving regulations, firefighting techniques, and public safety practices. Fire Chief Michael Mio and Deputy Chief Dan Monk say the grant significantly strengthens their ability to train 12 new recruits and keep all staff up to date, noting that ongoing support from partners like Enbridge and the Fire Marshal’s Public Safety Fire Council is essential for maintaining high-quality service in the community.
