Crime Stoppers Awareness Month - January 2026

Proclamation from the Mayor of behalf of the Town of Amherstburg: "Crime Stoppers Awareness Month - January 2026"
WHEREAS: Crime Stoppers month promotes awareness through education campaigns and events held across Windsor and Essex County. This year's theme for Crime Stoppers Month is "Be a Crime Stopper."
WHEREAS: The foundation of Crime Stoppers is the partnership between the community, law enforcement, partnering agencies, and the media. Crime Stoppers works to educate the public, create awareness and provide citizens the opportunity to report suspicious or criminal activity anonymously.
WHEREAS: Crime Stoppers encourages everyone to "Be a Crime Stopper" to assist law enforcement solve crime.
WHEREAS: Increased awareness and understanding of the Crime Stoppers program will promote the use of the 24 hours reporting service to reduce and solve crime.
WHEREAS: Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers actively works with members of the community, the media, and the police, as a community safety service partner.
THEREFORE: I, Mayor Michael Prue, on behalf of the Town of Amherstburg, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM January 2026 "Crime Stoppers Awareness Month" in the Town of Amherstburg.
