New Fire Hall (South Station) – Project Update

The new South Station, located at Meloche Road and Simcoe Street, is designed to enhance emergency response services and provide a new functional space for our fire personnel and equipment. The project has seen several key milestones already completed.

Work Completed to Date:

  • Sitework preparation including stormwater collection system
  • Water service installation
  • Sanitary service installation
  • Hydro pole relocation
  • Temporary hydro service
  • Parking lot base
  • Building footings
  • Shop drawing submittals and material preparation

These foundational steps are crucial in supporting the structural integrity and long-term durability of the building.

What’s Next:

  • Completion of building footings and below grade walls
  • Backfill and interior plumbing
  • Installation of the superstructure
  • Ongoing site preparation
  • Construction of the superstructure is scheduled to begin in August 2025.
