Sport Fields Update - April 2, 2026

As we welcome the spring season in Amherstburg, we are pleased to share an update on outdoor recreation amenities, including pickleball courts and sports fields.

Pickleball Courts Opening

The pickleball courts at the Libro Credit Union Centre officially opened for the season on April 1, 2026. Residents and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the courts and enjoy the return of outdoor play.

Before heading out, please check open play times and court availability at amherstburg.ca/beactive.

Courts operate on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Sport Fields Status

As preparations continue for the upcoming sports season, residents and visitors are asked to avoid using sports fields until they are officially open or when field conditions are wet. 

Early use can cause significant and lasting damage to turf and soil, impacting both playability and safety for the duration of the season. This time is critical for fields to properly dry, recover from winter conditions, and allow staff to complete essential pre-season maintenance.

Opening dates for sports fields will vary. Updates will be shared on the Town’s website and social media channels as fields become ready for use. Visit amherstburg.ca/recreation for the latest information.
