Town of Amherstburg to Participate in 2025 AMO Conference in Ottawa

 August 11, 2025

Mayor Michael Prue, along with Chief Administrative Officer Valerie Critchley, will represent the Town of Amherstburg at the 2025 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference taking place in Ottawa from August 17 to 20, 2025.

The AMO Conference brings together more than 2,500 municipal and provincial leaders from across Ontario to discuss the most pressing challenges facing communities today. This year’s event comes at a time of ongoing economic uncertainty, driven in part by trade and tariff disputes with the United States. Key issues on the agenda include economic resilience, infrastructure sustainability, and municipal service delivery.

Mayor Prue and senior Town officials will attend key sessions on affordable housing, community growth, homelessness, infrastructure, property reassessment, artificial intelligence, and the impacts of global trade. AMO will also launch its first Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan during the conference.
