For your convenience, Smart Cards/Bus Passes are available at Amherstburg's Town Hall soon. This cost-saving option enables you to choose the best fare package for your public transportation needs. No longer worry about the exact change! 

NOTE: New Smart Cards are available for $1.10. Smart Cards are reloadable. Just bring your Smart Card to Town Hall, and we will quickly reload  

Paying as you board the bus is also available at the fare rate of $5.25, and exact change is required.

Your bus fare includes the ability to transfer buses. To help you with bus options, Transit Windsor provides ROUTE MAPS & SCHEDULES for their service throughout the region. For your convenience there are a number of TRANSIT APPS & ONLINE TOOLS to assist you in navigating the transit system.  

 Learn more about your bus. Accessibility & other features. 

  • Bike racks combine the flexibility of cycling with the speed and long-haul ability of transit. 
  • All Transit Windsor buses are accessible with ramps and low floors. Buses can accommodate up two (2) wheelchairs at a time. When both wheelchair spaces are in use, or if the bus is full, the driver cannot board another wheelchair. Oncoming passengers in a wheelchair will have to wait for the next bus.

Rules and guidelines that make each bus ride easy and enjoyable for you and your fellow passengers. WeBe aware, look up at every stop. If you are able, offer your seat to passengers with visible and non-visible disabilities. value your business and thank you for riding transit. NOTE:  Face Coverings are mandatory on all buses. 

Important Tips

New to us and you! Here are a few tips to assist you on your journey. 

  • SMART CARDS cannot be altered by punching holes in them. There is chip technology under the service, which may be damaged and render the card useless. 
  • Amherstburg will have 3 buses a day, 7 days a week. The schedule may change during the holidays. 
  • Amherstburg's service is referred to as ROUTE 605.
  • SMART CARDS should be treated as cash.
  • Purchasing fare ahead of time on a SMART CARD is the most cost-effective ~ cash or debit only.
  • Cash or debit are accepted as methods of payment at Town Hall for SMART CARD purchases. 
  • SMART CARDS cost $1 but can be reused by reloading them repeatedly! 
  • Verifying card use is up to the driver. He will verify everyone is using the appropriate card. i.e. youth using a youth card & adult is using an adult card. Cards may be confiscated if misused. 
  • Using your SMART CARD for more than one fare/person at a time will not work. Each person requires their own SMART CARD. 
  • All buses are accessible and have a handy dandy bike rack.
  • Main Windsor Terminal is Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare.
  • When you use your SMART CARD, you can transfer buses for 2 hours following the time you boarded your first bus. 
  • To get the most out of your experience, use Transit Windsor's ROUTE MAPS & SCHEDULES and TRANSIT APPS & ONLINE TOOLS to navigate the transit system. 
  • The 15-Day & 30-Day Passes include unlimited use for the number of purchased days. If you have 2 days remaining on a SMART CARD and add another 30 days, it will calculate 32 days on your card. 
  • Contact Transit Windsor for defective SMART CARDS.

 University of Windsor & St. Clair College Students

For University of Windsor & St. Clair College Students it is likely your tuition includes a bus pass for all Transit Windsor service including Amherstburg's Route 605, at no additional cost. The bus passes are distributed and replaced on campus.

Lost and Found

Forgot something on the bus?

Transit Windsor is not responsible for items lost on its vehicles or property. To inquire about a lost item, please call 519-944-4111. If your item has been found, pickup arrangements will be discussed with our customer service department. Found items are stored for 14 days.

You may register a complaint, compliment or suggestion by calling 311, calling Transit Windsor at 519-944-4111 or emailing tw@citywindsor.ca.

The following information is required for follow up:

  • Bus route (e.g. Crosstown 2)
  • Location and direction of travel
  • Date and time of incident
  • Bus number, if possible (3 or 4 digit number located inside the bus just above the driver)
  • Description of the driver
  • Your name and telephone number

A report is filed based on the information we receive. An operations supervisor will investigate the incident and will call or email you back with the results within five (5) working days of the report date.
