By-law Enforcement

Soldier Officers

The Town of Amherstburg strives to make our community safe, healthy and enjoyable for everyone. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers work with residents and businesses to ensure they are meeting the requirements of a variety of by-laws. We also respond to complaints from the public and other government agencies, and identify property use violations. We do not respond to civil matters.

By-laws are created as a way to address issues and concerns of the community. They are created to protect the environment, public health, safety and to maintain pleasant neighbourhoods for everyone.

Town Council has passed specific by-laws regulating areas such as the licensing of dogs, parking, zoning, signs, property standards, yard maintenance and noise. The Town's By-law Enforcement Officers provide assistance in enforcing some of these by-laws.

To submit a by-law complaint online please go to the Amherstburg Portal where you can submit and track the status of you complaint.
