Amherstburg Uncommon Festival Returns September 18-20

Something uncommon is coming to downtown Amherstburg next weekend as the Amherstburg Uncommon Festival returns September 18-20, 2026.
The three-day festival will bring unique entertainment, hands-on experiences and family-friendly activities to downtown streets, King’s Navy Yard Park and the newly opened Amherstburg Waterfront Festival Plaza.
Visitors can expect a lineup of unusual and interactive experiences, including performances from mentalist Mysterion, buskers Bubbleology Show, Jake in the Box and Miles High Show, and performances by the Purple Theatre Group. Internationally recognized street chalk artist David Zinn will also transform spaces throughout the festival with his imaginative creations.
Hands-on activities will include pottery and candle making, mini escape rooms, scavenger hunts and the WFCU Wizard Academy, along with paranormal investigations and a pirate encampment. Friday will also feature hot air balloon rides courtesy of RE/MAX.
The popular costume contests return Saturday and Sunday with support from Walker Aggregates, giving festivalgoers a chance to dress their best and compete for cash prizes. On Saturday evening, J&J Marine will present a spectacular fireworks display over the river.
This year will also feature the largest vendor and food truck market in the festival’s history, offering even more to explore throughout downtown Amherstburg.
With unexpected experiences around every corner, visitors are encouraged to come curious and expect the unexpected!
