Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Flag Raising: September 1, 2026

This afternoon, the Town of Amherstburg raised the gold ribbon flag at Town Hall, proclaiming September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in our community.

Members of Council, representatives from Childcan, and members of our community gathered for the flag raising to recognize the children and families impacted by childhood cancer and to help raise awareness of the support available to them.

Since 1974, Childcan has provided critical support to families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis across Western Ontario.

This month, we stand together to raise awareness, show support and recognize the strength of children and families facing childhood cancer.
