National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: September 30

Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, honouring the children who never returned home, residential school Survivors, their families and the generations impacted by the residential school system. 

We also reflect on the history, resilience and rich cultures of Indigenous Peoples and the importance of listening, learning and continuing the work of reconciliation.

Thank you to the Elders, speakers, organizers and community members who came together with Ska:na Family Learning Centre this past weekend for the Truth & Reconciliation Gathering throughout downtown Amherstburg. Your participation created an opportunity for learning, reflection and remembrance as we continue the journey toward truth and reconciliation.
