Tree Planting Public Information Session on September 22, 2026

The Town of Amherstburg has been selected to receive grant funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund to support a multi-year street tree planting plan that will help protect and enhance Amherstburg’s tree canopy. The initiative will see 350 new street trees planted in targeted urban neighbourhoods, prioritizing areas with lower tree coverage and high pedestrian activity.

Street trees are Town-owned trees planted within the municipal right-of-way, typically within the boulevard area along streets.

Residents are invited to learn more about the project and ask questions at a Public Information Session:
