Yes, there is a substantial amount of serviced industrial land available for development and re-development within the Town of Amherstburg. The Town of Amherstburg Planning Department can provide assistance regarding available properties to meet your development needs.

Will I require a building permit to renovate the existing structure for my proposed business?
Dependent on the extent of the structural changes that are required to renovate a structure, a building permit under the Ontario Building Code Act may be required. A minimum number of washrooms will also need to be confirmed with the Building Code Act, to operate the proposed business. Consultation with the Town's Building Department is a recommendation. The Building Department and Licensing Department will check with the Town's Fire Department when a new business is proposed to confirm the minimum requirements under the Ontario Fire Code.
