Emergency Services

If you require immediate emergency assistance, call 9-1-1.

Call 9-1-1 if:

  • Urgent medical help is needed to save a life
  • You need to report a crime or serious traffic accident
  • You see a fire or smell smoke

Emergency Response is provided by Police Services, Amherstburg Fire Department, and the Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS). These emergency service departments also provide non-emergency services to the Town of Amherstburg that promote prevention and safety in our community.

The Town of Amherstburg Emergency Response Plan was adopted by Council on March 16, 2020.

The best way to be prepared in the event of an Emergency is to have an emergency plan to and be familiar with local hospitals and health centres.
