Jack Purdie Park

This park was named 'John' (Jack) Purdie Park in 1992. Jack Purdie served on Town Council for 8 years, was recognized for his devotion to many minor sports teams and fought with the Essex Kent Scottish Regiment in WWII. This park is classified as a 4.6 hectare Community Park located within the Monopoly subdivision in the heart of Amherstburg. The park underwent an extensive public consultation at the same time as H. Murray Smith Centennial Park. Several designs were developed, and Council approved a Master Plan for the park in 2022. In 2023 a new accessible playground was installed as phase 1 of a multi-year phased project.
