K. Walter Ranta Memorial Park

This park occupies land formerly owned by Walter Ranta, who was the owner of Ranta Enterprises, member of Thistle Lodge #34, and the Amherstburg Lions Club. This park is in the Edgewater Beach neighbourhood, where the mouth of the Canard River meets with the Heritage Detroit River.
The park is adjacent to a privately-owned marina with a nautical themed playground, off street parking and vast open space to the water's edge. Council has directed Administration to investigate the cost to install a public boat ramp.

The K. Walter Rant Memorial park is revitalized with a public boat/kayak launch and trailer parking, restored historic and new playgrounds, washroom and shades structures. The waterfront becomes a playful beach experience with a splash pad, beach volleyball and sandy "beach" zones with umbrellas and loungers connected by a flowing path representing the confluence of rivers.
